Roberta Larson Duyff, MS, RD, FADA, CFCS (St. Louis, Mo.) is a nationally-recognized, award-winning author, national speaker, media writer, and food industry/government consultant, focusing on practical, science-based food and nutrition guidance -- and promoting "the power of positive nutrition” and the great tastes of good health to consumers of all ages. 

Roberta has authored many books including the American Dietetic Association Complete Food and Nutrition Guide (now in its fourth edition, 2012), and 365 Days of Healthy Eating with its flavorful recipes and healthy lifestyle tips (John Wiley & Sons).

With her culinary expertise, she also has been a guiding force behind and a contributor to the regional cookbook, Cooking Healthy Across America.  Her recipes also appear in Cooking with Les Dames d'Escoffier: At Home with the Women Who Shape the Way We Eat and Drink, in popular magazines, and in food industry websites. 

She is a respected consultant to many government, food industry, and educational clients, including the USDA, the FDA, National Food Service Management Institute, National Dairy Council, National Science Teachers Association, International Food Information Council, the Canned Food Alliance, Dreamfields Pasta, and many more. 

With her academic background in education as well as food and nutrition, she has authored Food, Nutrition, and Wellness and other nutrition, health and culinary textbooks (Glencoe/McGraw-Hill for secondary schools, several children's healthy eating books, including All Our Fruits and Vegetables (federal grant), Nibbles for Health and Power of Choice (USDA), online Nutrition Sci Guides and Sci Packs (National Science Teachers Association), and other nutrition education curriculum for government, non-profit and food industry organizations.

She has been a weekly columnist for the St. Louis Post Dispatch and editorial board/writer for Today's Health and Wellness, has written for popular media and appeared on national TV and radio, and online webcast interviews, including Food and Nutrition Magazine, USA Today, Living Fit, Cooking Light, Better Homes and Gardens, Vegetarian Times, Parenting, Ladies’ Home Journal, and WebMD.com. And she has been quoted in many others!

Roberta has received many national and regional awards for her writing and professional work, including the ADA Medallion Award, the ADA's President's  Lecture,  the Missouri Dietetic Association's Lifetime Achievement Award, the National Health Information Award, numerous awards from National Press Women, and National Home Economist in Business of the Year.  She currently serves on the James Beard Journalism Awards Committee honoring excellence in food journalism.  Roberta earned her B.S. at the University of Illinois and her M.S. in nutrition and education at Cornell University.  She is past chair of the Food and Culinary Practice Group of the Academy, among other professional leadership positions, including the Society for Nutrition Education Board and president of its Foundation, National Chair of the Home Economists in Business, and serves in state and national leadership roles in international youth exchange.
